A shot of the iconic Santa Monica Pier with the Space X SAOCOM 1A launch overhead. The Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Vandenburg Air Force base Complex 4E (SLC-4E) which is approximately 120 miles north west of Los Angeles. This was to be the first time Elon Musk's company had launched and landed a rocket on the west coast. Its times like this that I feel in the middle of history being made. With commercial space flight on the cusp of becoming a reality this is a really special time to be alive and witness this all unfolding.
